The Bush second term is gearing up, and I'm feeling the need to vent.
Here are some issues worthy of your study and consideration:
• From the NYT- Remember when the 9-11 Commission (the one that Bush fought against at every step, and only happened at all because of the ceaseless efforts of a group of 9-11 widows) concluded that Iraq's connection to al-Qaida and terrorism was tenuous at best? Well, thanks to our efforts at stablizing the region through war, that is no longer true. Iraq has become the ideal on-the-job training site for terrorism and no amount of sham elections will change that any time soon:

From "The Daily Kos" blog:
"The Iraq Debacle is NOW about the War on Terror becauuse of the tremendous harm caused to the United States' fight against terror: the recruitment bonanza; the spike in anti-American Arab sentiment; the fraying of our alliances; the degrading of our armed forces; and the development of Iraq as a training and proving ground for terrorists."
The scary thing to me is the way his mind works. Last night in an interview with the Washington Post, he said
"We had an accountability moment, and that's called the 2004 elections. The American people listened to different assessments made about what was taking place in Iraq, and they looked at the two candidates, and chose me."
As if his slim margin of victory somehow equates to a blanket approval of his failed policies and decisions.
• Bush is on a campaign to radically change the way we take care of our retired, elderly and disabled through Social Security. I find it interesting that those people who most strongly oppose doing away with Social Security as we know it (older people) are the same people who overwhelmingly supported him in the election, and those who favor the idea (younger people) generally supported Kerry:

• Black conservative columnist Armstrong Williams was paid $240,000 of your tax dollars by the Bush administration to write columns in support of "No Child Left Behind" as if they were his own unbiased viewpoint:

Communist Russia had Pravda, we have Fox News Channel.
Finally-
• Privatizing Social Security and making Bush's tax cuts are expensive endeavors, especially when you're already trillions in debt. Here's how he's going to help pay for all of this:
