(Susan:) Rob and Tessa left at noon today for Baltimore. Tessa has a follow-up appointment with X-rays tomorrow to see how her leg is progressing. They have safely made it to their hotel on the Inner Harbor and were dining out when I spoke with them last. Tessa had her napkin over her head and refused to come out, even to talk about cats. I guess the negotiations have gotten to her. She said she felt closer to her mom with a napkin over her head (apparently it is warm and cozy). She did come out to talk with me, but Rob then put his napkin over his head. The other diners must have thought they were insane. I must admit, I don't understand this phenomenon, but I sure hope we have photos when they return.
Rob had intended to blog and took the camera with him. Unfortunately, he was having computer access problems at the hotel, so has asked me to fill in. I'll have to draw from our photo library to bridge the gap until they return tomorrow evening.
It is far too quiet here with my "Dynamic Duo" gone. Sam, my good friend Beth and I passed the time quilting and watching Lion King 1&1/2. I finished a nine patch quilt for Tessa with patches representing all her family members. When the camera returns maybe we can blog a photo. It is very therapeutic to finish this for her. It will now go to Minnesota to be hand quilted in traditional Amish fashion.
Daily Kansas City and Missouri Fact: combined in one!!
On October 23, 1864 the Civil War Battle of Westport was fought practically on our front lawn. Union forces prevailed despite heavy casualities (buried in our lawn?). I have often wondered if this house is haunted, and tonight all alone is probably not the night to wonder any further. I don't know how to link yet: bet you can't wait for Rob to return.
