(Rob:) Today was a pretty good Daddy Day for Tessa Jean. Her rehab appointment at Children's Mercy cancelled today because the physical therapist was sick, so we decided to just knock around the shops in Brookside (a cool old neighborhood just southeast of where we live) and do land therapy at home. She watched "The Sound of Music" for distraction while she was working and had a lot of questions about how authentic the story was ("Were there really von Trapps? Did they really sing all of the time? Did all Austrians sing all of the time?")
Click here if you are curious about the von Trapps
We then made a brief fire in the chimnea and came in for homework and bedtime.
Here are some pics from the weekend:

• Daily Movie Quote:
"When are you going to take this war seriously, Anderson?"
"Now let me tell you something Johnson, before you get on my wrong side. My corn I take seriously, because it's mine. And my potatoes and tomatoes and my fence I take note of because they're mine. But this war is not mine and I don't take note of it."![]()
---Friday's answer: "Say Anything" (1989)
(No correct guesses)
• Daily Obscure Song Lyric:
"Poor old Johnny Ray
Sounded sad upon the radio
He moved a million hearts in mono
Our mothers cried and sang along and who'd blame them?"
--Friday's answer: "I Want You Back (1969) by The Jackson 5 (back in happier days)

New Mexico Rick makes a no-prize winning reappearance!
Looks beautiful there with all of the blooms. We still have our "beautiful" dirt & rock yard! ;) They are finally painting the house. I'll take pics. It is getting warm here though. We did the Humane Society animal walk on Saturday. Ava had a blast, and even got slimed by a BIG dog that she ran into. Luckily, the Dad of 5 and the big dog had wipes to clean her up. Can't believe I forgot those wipes..I usually have those everywhere I go.
I think Im showing my age cause Im pretty sure the song is Come on Eileen by Dexie's Midnight Runners.
See you soon!

Good Morning!
Again, I love the photos. What good buddies those two are. That's neat stuff.
It must be an awesome year for lilacs! I really miss them and the other spring flowers from the Midwest. I hope there are still a few blooms left when I get there so I can enjoy their beautiful fragrance.
Well, I had a really lazy day yesterday, so I better do better than that today.
Hugs and kisses to everyone, and I will see you soon. I sure enjoy your blog!
Love,
Gramma Judy

Could the movie be................."The Sound of Music"?
Sounds like a great day and the pictures are awesome. Nate and Kat are on a Disney Cruise in the Bahamas this week and are out of communication range. We aren't liking that much around here but I'm sure they are having a great time in the sun and sea.
See you in a few weeks,
Tom
