Bruuuuuuce!!!!!

Quickie post-we saw perhaps one of the best Springsteen shows ever-the final concert of the Magic tour. We were surrounded by our family and our best friends as we made the tough transition back to the new world. Today is another tough transition to school. I am sitting outside the classroom now as Tessa tried two classes and finds her locker and starts to figure out a pretty daunting routine. Then we are off to meet her new therapist at the hospital and maybe squeeze in some pool time with Mom the new water therapist.

Last Day Down

We have wrapped up our final day. It was an emotionalone as we have become attached to our small apartment and our routine albeit it difficult. Tessa has become quite fond of Brita, the therapist who pushes her through her painful exercises everyday. Today Tessa told me she had become her best friend out here and she loved her. We met with the doctor and our x rays are good showing we are 7 cm longer. He recommended continuing to lengthen another 2 cm. We do not have to come back until September 9th. We are packing up our little world now and off to bed. See you tomorrow. . . above tibia and fibula with 3.5 cm break and femur with same.

Day 4 Down

We had a really good day. Just having Zanny and Mitchell here has really improved Tessa's outlook and mood. We had a little Starbucks, a little therapy, and another little trip to Build-A-Headache, I mean Bear. The Howe's came thru with mail that wasn't even addressed to us or them. And we received a woderful box of brownies in an Olympic box from the ladies at the Baptist Trinity Lutheran Legacy Foundation. Thank you Karen and Becky!

Day 3 Down

Zanny and Mitchell are in the pad! Amen! And whooped-de-zoo, I say. Tessa has been having a rough time with pain from stretching and already she is smiling and telling stories. We may run down to the store for butter so we can make cookies. The beach volleyball isn't on until 11, and we are already yawning like sea lions and walruses. We are so so so so glad to have company.

Day 2 Down

Tuesday is done. We have one strut to turn and then to bed. We may read Breaking Dawn if I can talk Tessa into starting it. Tomorrow is Zanny/Mitchell day! And a big hump day. Here is a picture of our Saturday shopping finds and T watching Gilmore Girls. Goodnight and thanks for the words of encouragement.

Day 1 Down

We had a little loneliness today. It is very quiet in the apartment without Mr. Sam. Tessa was also very sad to miss the first day of school. She can still use your good thoughts as she is feeling like she cannot keep doing this. We are hopefully close to the end of the lengthening and once that stops her pain level should get a whole lot better. We see the doctor Friday morning for an x ray so in the mean time we grind out the final four days. We are so looking forward to Zanny and Mitchell and going home!!!!

Quiet Sunday

Susan: We had a quiet one today. Rob and Sam made it home safely with most of our stuff. We watched movies and Olympics and took a nap today. We are expecting Zanny and Mitchell on Wednesday and they will help us travel home. We are hoping for a goodnight's sleep.

(Rob:) Here are some more pics from our beautiful day on the Inner Harbor. It was fantastic to be back together with them again after 12 long days! Sam and I had a fun time at the aquarium while Susan and Tessa did some shopping. Just one more week until Homecoming!

Reunited

Rob is in the house! And unfortunately, the computer has crashed so we cannot blog as before. We have to use the iPhone for the rest of our time here. We had a great day with Daddy Rob. He made us pancakes and did the morning exercises then he and Sam went to the aquarium while Tessa and I went shopping and got fruit smoothies. We also mailed home 65 lbs of stuff. No kidding!! What a great thing in anticipation of going home.
