It seems I recall hearing that some credit card company will replace an item purchased on it if something happens to that item in a certain period of time--you didn't happen to use one of those cards, did you? (Of course, I don't pay good attention to most ads, so can't remember which company that is.)

So sorry you lost your camera 1) because it was new, 2) you take awsome photos with it, and 3) it's another mark against mankind (Do Unto Others!).

Hope the rest of your trip is flawless.
