Gramma Judy

I am kind of speechless, so this will be a short entry.

I was feeling bad because I couldn't be in Iowa City for that game, but now I feel as if I were there. Thank you for that beautiful recounting of an amazing day. Kinnick Stadium and the Hawkeyes have provided some of the highlights of my life, too, so
none of what you said seemed at all silly. It was beautiful.

I can't tell you how happy I am that you shared such a special day with your dad and Cody. That soft, loving side of your dad gets buried under the "grizzlies," but I have always known it was there. It is that side that I fell in love with so many
years ago. It pleases me a great deal that you all had that time together.

As for friends and family, there's nothing more I can add. They are truly what life is all about. I live in a "paradise" but it doesn't come to life for me until family and friends come to visit, so I understand exactly how you felt about Belgium.

That's all. I am kind of goosebumpy and very touched by your story, so I'll stop now and let it soak in a while.

I love you all very much.
Love,
Mom

P.S. Kudos to Susan for understanding your need to occasionally visit "Rob's World."

Rob, Great blog on the Hawkeye weekend. I can't tell you how happy I am about this amazing turnaround season. Now it is on to Orlando and finish this year 10-2. By the way I love the Where's Grampa's foot shots. It truly was a great day.

Love to All!

Wow! Zanny

Rob, thanks for sending your blog. Enjoyed seeing the pictures, Melrose Market is actually a neat little restaraunt on non-game days. You are right about that game ranking up there. I wish we could go to the bowl but our new grandbaby will be here by then.

Have a great Thanksgiving

Rob,
Great blog entry, great pictures and even better story. Duane and I were watching the game on T.V. and I told him that I bet you guys were there since it was such a big game for the Hawks at such a crucial time in the schedule. I loved the whole entry and the spirit behind it. I know what you mean when you talk about the emotion when you enter the stadium. You may not know it, but I have been a huge Sooner fan since I was about 8 years old. We spent a summer with my Uncle who was in the Air Force and stationed in Oklahoma. But, I had never been able to go to a game. This year since we live only 2 hours away from Norman, we have gone to three games and one of them was the Nebraska game. It was a dream come true for me! Anyway, I will be cheering on the Hawks in their bowl game, being from Iowa I always cheer for them. Take care and I am glad you got to have such a special date with your Dad and Cody!
Love,
Cousin Stacy
