(Rob:) Awesome day here in K.C.: 70 degrees and sunny!
We enjoyed a nice weekend, the first in a while with no traveling. Susan was on call but was able to get away on Saturday for a shopping trip with her friend Beth. The kids were busy- Tessa Jean had a swimming lesson yesterday morning and a tennis lesson in the afternoon. Sam and Tessa Jean both had play dates today. I spent the day painting Tessa's room, but I was able to enjoy some fresh air thought he open windows.
Tonight the kids watched the "Spongebob" movie (they got totally robbed at the Oscars) and I went to play in a Sunday night basketball league. The last time I played was 2 years ago and I ended up breaking my ankle, the very same week Susan hyperextended her knee. This year we're going to try to keep in mind that we are pushing 40 and may not be able to do everything the way we used to. I didn't break anything tonight, but I know I'm going to be sore in the morning.
As if we needed a reminder of our advancing ages, this front porch rocker came in the post yesterday:
So now in our geezer years we will have a place to sit and watch the young whippersnappers and yell at them if they run on our yard.
The kids loved the new rocker, or at least they loved the box it came in:
I think this picture of the cats is really cool, but it also sort of creeps me out in a way. Like Jack is there watching through the front door window planning his next vicious attack, with his right hand cat Gus at his side to discuss strategy.
I highly recommend the new Victoria's Secret catalog to anyone who has a scientific interest in the latest advances in mammary support technology (MST):
With your advancing age, evidenced by your new front porch rocker, you should take it easy with that Victoria Secret catalog. It appeared by the expression on your face that it might be too much for you! :-)
Great Blog!
How did Tessa's room turn out? That's a big room and a big painting assignment! Maybe you could send some photos.
Fun news about the Kansas City Star coming to take photos of your new bathroom! Be sure to let us know when the story will run so I can check
the Internet and take a look.
I will probably work on painting our wicker furniture again today. That, too, is not an easy paint job. There are soooo many nooks and crannies to get into! I got a little crazy with my color choices, as you will see when you get here.
Have a magnificent Monday. Hugs to the kids and we will see you soon!
Woohoo!!!
Love,
Gramma Judy
