(Rob:) Sam is playing a little kindergarten baseball this summer- here are some pictures of him in action in his Cardinal uniform:
At first, Sam was bummed that he didn't get a Royals hat and jersey instead, but after I told him the Cardinals were way better and actually baseball's World Champions, he's been fine with it:

As Susan wrote in her post yesterday, we went to the minor-league stadium on Friday night to see the Kansas City T-Bones play the Schaumberg Flyers last Friday night. Here's Sam with his buddy Will:
It was "Star Wars Night" at the ballpark, which means nerds were hired to come in costume- here are 2 Stormtroopers and a Sandperson:
Three nerds tried to win something by throwing a baseball into a box (all missed badly):
Sam cheered the nerds for their effort nonetheless!
Tell Sam I leave for St. Louis in a matter of moments to watch his parent team. Have a good one.

Cute kid. Too bad about the choice of jersey and hat. There may have to be a special delivery of the best looking (and best initialed) hat in baseball this weekend to save the poor boy. See you soon....

Looking good, Sam! We wish you luck with your season. If you play as good as you look, you will be the best baseball player EVER!!

Oh, by the way...be careful with the "nerd" comments about Star Wars night. You can be sure that Sam and Mitchell will be all dressed up trying pitch that ball someday. Have you heard about the huge Star Wars convention in L.A. this weekend? Go to lego.com for details. LOTS and LOTS of nerds there!!

Regardless of the score, that boy is a winner! Go Cardinals! Go Sam!
Not much to report from here. Pepper is still nipping at our heels and toes. She bites my big toe whenever she walks by. It fits perfectly in her mouth. Don't worry, we are not bringing her to KC this weekend. :-)
See you Sunday!
Love,
