Summer friends play sand volleyball to raise money for a local battered women's shelter
What could possible be better than good friends, sand in your teeth, sweat and beer?
(Susan): I am back from a two day work conference in San Francisco and it is good to be home. The conference wasn't so instructive after all that travel. The shopping, the Chinese food and seafood did make up for it though. My partner and friend, Kelly and I opted out early and caught a Saturday flight home so we did capture a little weekend with the kids. We are still enjoying some Indian summer activities with sand volleyball and swimming. Tessa starts her school volleyball games next Saturday and Rob is fully into football season. He bought me a very nice Bronco jersey to wear during games. He thinks of everything!!
More summer friends came to visit for Labor Day, Grandma Judy and Jerry
Another summer friend enjoys our garden (YUCK, Mr. Orb Weaver!!!!)
Another summer friend who wouldn't hold still for a close up (another dark variant of the swallowtail?)
Sam has mastered the diving board and proudly displays his best Spiderman jump while Abbey and Tessa look on
This will soon be a new yellow stove
Sam visits the new closet by the back door
Wow! Sam's Spiderman jump off the diving board was fantastic! Way to go, Sam!
I think we might have one of those huge spiders in our yard. A web appeared yesterday with lots of zig zags in it, but I have not yet seen the spider. The web is stretched between two trees, so I am afraid it won't last very long. I will keep you posted.
Great blog, as always.
Love,
Gramma Judy

Susan,
That is one sweet Giant Swallowtail on the flowers. We don't see too many of them up here.
Take care,
TCH

Good that you got home early from SanFrancisco. A quiet weekend here. Today was BookClub for me and Thursday I meet four old friends in Plymouth for a Play and overnight stay to visit and catch up on all their news of the last year. Brother Bob had surgery last Friday to remove the hip replacement, so he will be in the hospital and then a nursing home for about 8 weeks until the infection is gone. Then another replacement will be done. MOM
