(Rob:) We spent our first non-traveling day in Oslo today on a walking tour of the city with a local guide. Here are a few pics:
Susan and I in front of the Royal Palace:
The National Theatre right next to our hotel with a statue of Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen:
Close-up of quilt at Oslo City Hall including an image of Edvard Munch's "The Scream":
Susan at Oslo City Hall building, next to the quilt:
We're seeing a lot of these electric smart cars:
(In a related story, Al Gore is coming here this weekend to receive the Nobel Peace Prize)
Standing at the fortress wall on the waterfront, built 1000 years ago to fight off the invading Swedes:
Next to the ice skating rink near the hotel:
Back at the hotel tonight, we video chatted with Sam and found that he was just as tall as he was when we left Saturday:
Tomorrow we're taking a driving tour around the area with our guide Hilda, then tomorrow night: THE BOSS!
Great photos, great reporting. Looking forward to tomorrow's edition. How's the weather? It looks pretty chilly. Have fun!
Love,
Mom/Judy
